FedLoan Servicing, also known as American Education Services (AES), is a student loan servicing company that is contracted by the U.S. Department of Education to service loans for the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program and the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program. This means that they are responsible for managing and collecting payments on student loans that are guaranteed or originated by the federal government. Services they provide include, but not limited to, loan consolidation, loan forgiveness, income-driven repayment plans, and other loan management tools.
