How ads work on this site
IsDownUS is free and has no accounts or subscriptions. Ads pay for the servers, the website checks and the team. This page explains how we keep them apart from the information you came for.

Ads never change a status
The status is calculated from reports and our website checks, as described on How it works. Advertisers have no say in it and no say in our tips, FAQs or descriptions.
How ads are labelled
- AdvertisementAds from Google AdSense are marked \"Advertisement\". We do not choose the individual ads that Google shows.
- SponsoredOffers from partners we chose, for example a VPN, are marked \"Sponsored\". We may earn a commission if you buy through them.
- Kept apartAds sit in their own boxes between sections. They are never placed inside the status, the report buttons, tips or comments text.
Links in sponsored offers are marked as sponsored for search engines. We do not publish paid articles or paid reviews.
Where ads appear
Ads appear on status pages and some other pages, in fixed spaces so the page does not jump while you read. Some pages have no ads. Ads load only when you scroll near them.
Ads and your data
Google may use cookies to show and measure ads and, depending on your choices and where you live, to show ads based on your interests. You can change this in Google's ad settings. Details are in our privacy policy.
Report a bad ad
Seen an ad that is misleading, offensive or pretends to be support for a service? Tell us the page address and what the ad showed through the contact form, and we will block it.
Advertise with us
We work with a small number of partners whose products help people during outages, such as VPNs, internet providers and backup tools. Sponsored offers must be labelled, must not look like status information and must not imitate the services we list. To ask about advertising, use the contact form with the topic "Advertising".
