How we make the content on this site
Status pages are built from data, but the text around them, such as service descriptions, troubleshooting tips and FAQs, is written. This page explains where it comes from, how we use AI and how we keep it correct.

What we publish
- Live statusGenerated automatically from reports and website checks, as described on How it works. Nobody edits a status by hand.
- Service detailsA short description, the type of service, the problems people can report and related services.
- Tips and FAQSteps to check whether a problem is on your side, and answers to common questions about outages.
- CommentsWritten by visitors and moderated by us. They are not our content and we do not check whether they are true.
Where the information comes from
Tips and FAQs are researched from the service's own help pages, status pages and error-code documentation, and from what visitors report on our pages. Each set lists its sources and the date they were last checked, right under the tips.
We prefer official sources. When we use a source that is not run by the service itself, the change is always reviewed by a person before it goes live.
How we use AI
AI agents, run by our team, draft service descriptions, tips, FAQs and lists of related services, and help us moderate comments. They work from written rules and must cite their sources. Every change they make is a proposal that our system checks against those rules and records.
- Reviewed by a person before publishing: changes to the 500 most visited services, changes the agent is not sure about, anything that cites a source outside the service's own website, and any proposal to remove a service.
- Published after automatic checks: other changes that pass all rules. We review them afterwards, and every change can be rolled back.
- Never written by AI: the status itself, the report counts and our website checks. These are calculated, not written.
Keeping content current
Services change their apps and help pages often. Tips and FAQs are checked again regularly, starting with the most visited services, and pages that have not been reviewed for about six months are queued for another check. The "checked" date under the tips shows when that happened.
When a service closes or its website starts pointing somewhere else, we review the page and take it down.
Independence
- No company can pay to change its status, hide reports or remove comments about an outage.
- Ads are marked as ads and are never mixed with tips or status information.
- We are not affiliated with the services we list.
