What you can report
- A status that looks wrongA page says there is an outage when there is none, or the other way round, for longer than a short spike.
- Wrong detailsThe name, logo, description, category or the website we check is wrong or out of date.
- A tip or FAQ that is wrongA step that no longer exists in the app, a wrong error code or a broken link to a help page.
- A service that closedThe service shut down, was renamed or now points to a different website.
- A commentA scam phone number, personal details or abuse that our moderation missed. See the community guidelines.
- Your own websiteYou run a site we check and want the checks stopped or its details corrected.
About the status itself
Nobody sets a status by hand, so we cannot simply switch it. It is calculated from visitor reports and our own website checks, as described on How it works. When a status looks wrong we look at why: a wrong website address, a check that is blocked, a burst of reports caused by something else. Then we fix the cause, for example the address we check or the rules for that service.
A short spike of reports during a real outage at a big provider is not a mistake, even when the service you use was fine. People often report the app they see failing first.
How to report it
- Copy the page addressOpen the page with the mistake and copy its address from the browser.
- Open the contact formUse the contact form and choose "Report a mistake or a comment".
- Say what is wrongTell us what the page shows and what is correct. A link to an official source, such as the company's own announcement, helps a lot.
- SendWe reply by email when we need more details or when the fix is live.
Website and service owners
If you run a website or service we list, you can ask us to stop our checks of your site, correct its name, logo, description or address, or tell us that it has closed. Use the contact form with the topic "I run a website you check" and write from an address at your domain if you can, so we can confirm it is yours.
We stop checks on request. Status pages of public services are useful to the people who rely on them, so a request to take a page down is reviewed case by case: we remove pages of services that closed, private or personal sites, and pages that list a service by mistake. We do not remove reports or comments because they are critical of a service.
What happens next
- We read every report and check it against the service's own website, help pages and our data.
- Confirmed mistakes are corrected, usually within a few days, and the date on the page is updated.
- If we do not change something, we tell you why when you leave an email address.
How we make and review content is described in our editorial policy.
