- Check the official status page
Many apps and online tools have a status page. Look for a status link at the bottom of their site.
- Sign out and back in
This fixes expired sessions. If you sign in with your company account (SSO), try the sign-in page again.
- Clear cache or use a private window
Old files in the browser can break the page after an update.
- Turn off extensions and VPN
Ad blockers, privacy extensions and company VPNs or firewalls can block the app.
- Update the desktop app
Old versions can stop connecting after a server change.

Chai is a mobile app for chatting with AI characters made by its community, from companions to story bots. People use the Chai app on iPhone and Android, with message limits on the free plan and paid plans for more. Problems usually show up as bots not replying, chats that will not load or messages that fail to send.

Is Chai down right now?
No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Chai. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Chai working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Chai itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Chai?
