Is it just me?
If others are not reporting problems, try these steps first.
- Run network diagnostics in Settings
Go to Cursor Settings, Network, and click Run Diagnostics. It tests the connection to Cursor's servers and shows what blocks AI features.
- Switch to HTTP/1.1 behind a proxy
Some company proxies, like Zscaler, block HTTP/2. In Cursor Settings, Network, set HTTP Compatibility Mode to HTTP/1.1 and restart Cursor.
- Fully restart Cursor after a VPN
Cursor can keep a VPN's DNS settings after you disconnect. Quit and reopen Cursor, not just reload the window.
- Turn off your VPN on 'suspicious activity'
The suspicious activity message means a request was blocked for security, and VPNs can trigger it. Turn the VPN off and try again.

How we decide the status
The status comes from user reports, compared with what is normal for this time of day.
-
No problems
Reports are within the usual range for this time of day, or there are only a few of them.
-
Possible problems
In the last hour there were at least 4 reports and more than the top of the usual range.
-
Problems detected
In the last hour there were at least 10 reports and at least twice the top of the usual range.
The usual range comes from the same time of day over the last 4 weeks. Each report is counted once per person per 30 minutes. The status is based on what users report; it is not official information from the service. We update it on every page view. Our methodology
About Cursor
Cursor is an AI code editor built on VS Code, with chat, code completion and agents that edit across a whole project. Developers install it on Windows, Mac and Linux and sign in to use AI models through a Cursor plan or their own API keys. Problems usually show up as AI requests that hang or fail, model errors or trouble signing in, and Cursor posts incidents on its status page.
Cursor status FAQ
Quick answers about Cursor outages.
Is Cursor down right now?
No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Cursor. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Cursor working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Cursor itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Cursor?
Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Cursor is down for everyone.
How does IsDownUS decide if Cursor is down?
We count problem reports from users every 15 minutes and compare the last hour with what is normal for that time of day over the past week. A small rise shows "Possible problems". Many more reports than normal show "Problems detected". The status is based on user reports only and is not official information from Cursor.
Why does Cursor AI stop working behind a company proxy?
Cursor streams AI responses over HTTP/2, which some proxies block. Set HTTP Compatibility Mode to HTTP/1.1 in Cursor Settings, Network, then restart Cursor. Run Diagnostics on the same page to confirm.

Why don't Cursor AI features work over SSH?
With Remote SSH, AI requests go from your own computer, not the server. Check your local internet, make sure the remote server is not out of memory or CPU, and restart Cursor after the connection drops.
