Is it just me?
If others are not reporting problems, try these steps first.
- Switch to JLLM to test your proxy
Rate limit or network errors usually come from a proxy model like DeepSeek. Switch to the built-in JLLM model; if it works, the proxy is the problem.
- Wait out a 502 error
Error 502 means Janitor AI's chat system is having a temporary problem, even if the rest of the site loads. Check back after a few minutes.
- Log out and back in on a 401 error
401 Unauthorized is usually a stale login session. Log out and back in, then try a private window or another browser.
- Clear cache and cookies
Clearing your browser cache and cookies fixes many chat errors, but it logs you out, so make sure you know your login first.

How we decide the status
The status comes from user reports, compared with what is normal for this time of day.
-
No problems
Reports are within the usual range for this time of day, or there are only a few of them.
-
Possible problems
In the last hour there were at least 4 reports and more than the top of the usual range.
-
Problems detected
In the last hour there were at least 10 reports and at least twice the top of the usual range.
The usual range comes from the same time of day over the last 4 weeks. Each report is counted once per person per 30 minutes. The status is based on what users report; it is not official information from the service. We update it on every page view. For janitorai.com we also run our own automated checks: if two checks in a row fail, the page shows problems even without reports. Our methodology

Janitor AI status FAQ
Quick answers about Janitor AI outages.
Is Janitor AI down right now?
No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Janitor AI. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Janitor AI working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Janitor AI itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Janitor AI?
Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Janitor AI is down for everyone.
How does IsDownUS decide if Janitor AI is down?
We count problem reports from users every 15 minutes and compare the last hour with what is normal for that time of day over the past week. A small rise shows "Possible problems". Many more reports than normal show "Problems detected". The status is based on user reports only and is not official information from Janitor AI.
What does Janitor AI error 502 mean?
The chat system on Janitor AI is having a temporary problem, even if the rest of the site works. There is nothing to fix on your side; it usually clears within a short time.

Why does Janitor AI say Rate Limit or Network Error?
This usually comes from a proxy model provider, like DeepSeek or Claude, being overloaded. Switch to JLLM to check, wait and retry later, and clear your cache or try another browser if it continues.
