Is it just me?

If others are not reporting problems, try these steps first.

  1. Check your subscription in Services & subscriptions

Sign in to Services & subscriptions. If your Microsoft 365 plan is under Canceled subscriptions, renew it to activate the apps again.

  2. Sign in with the account that owns Office

Your Office or Microsoft 365 plan must be listed in Services & subscriptions for that email. If it is not, that account cannot activate Office.

How we decide the status

The status comes from user reports, compared with what is normal for this time of day.

  • No problems

Reports are within the usual range for this time of day, or there are only a few of them.

  • Possible problems

In the last hour there were at least 4 reports and more than the top of the usual range.

  • Problems detected

In the last hour there were at least 10 reports and at least twice the top of the usual range.

The usual range comes from the same time of day over the last 4 weeks. Each report is counted once per person per 30 minutes. The status is based on what users report; it is not official information from the service. We update it on every page view. Our methodology

Microsoft 365 status FAQ

Quick answers about Microsoft 365 outages.

Is Microsoft 365 down right now?

No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Microsoft 365. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.

Why isn't Microsoft 365 working for me?

Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Microsoft 365 itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.

How do I report a problem with Microsoft 365?

Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Microsoft 365 is down for everyone.

How does IsDownUS decide if Microsoft 365 is down?

We count problem reports from users every 15 minutes and compare the last hour with what is normal for that time of day over the past week. A small rise shows "Possible problems". Many more reports than normal show "Problems detected". The status is based on user reports only and is not official information from Microsoft 365.

Why does Microsoft 365 say it couldn't activate Office?

Your subscription may have expired or you may be signed in with an account that does not own it. Check Services & subscriptions, renew if it is canceled, and sign in with the right account. For work accounts, the admin checks the subscription.
