Is it just me?
If others are not reporting problems, try these steps first.
- Hold the phone about 15 cm away
Some phones cannot focus closer than 10 cm. Hold your phone about 15 cm from the problem so the scan is sharp.
- Allow camera permission in Settings
If you see 'screen overlay detected', go to Settings, Apps, Photomath, Permissions, and allow the camera.
- Restart the phone if the camera is black
Turn the phone off, wait about 10 seconds and turn it on. Remove recently installed apps if the camera stays black.

Is Photomath down right now?
No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Photomath. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Photomath working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Photomath itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Photomath?
Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Photomath is down for everyone.

Why is the Photomath camera screen black?
