If others are not reporting problems, try these steps first.
- Update the Speechify app
An outdated app is a common reason Speechify will not open or play. Update it from the App Store or Google Play.
- Turn off your VPN and reset network settings
On iPhone, turn off any VPN and reset network settings in Settings, General, Reset if audio will not load.
- Allow background data on Android
Force stop the app, clear its data in Storage, then turn on Allow Background Data Usage under Mobile Data.
- Use Highlight and Play on stubborn pages
Speechify reads open pages, not ones behind a login. If Listen does not start, highlight the text and use Highlight and Play.

About Speechify
Speechify is a text-to-speech app that reads documents, web pages, PDFs, emails and books aloud in natural voices. People use it in its iPhone, Android and Mac apps, in a Chrome extension and in a browser, with a free plan and a Premium plan. Problems usually show up as voices that do not play, documents that fail to import or the extension not reading pages.

Is Speechify down right now?
No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Speechify. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Speechify working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Speechify itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Speechify?
Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Speechify is down for everyone.
How does IsDownUS decide if Speechify is down?
We count problem reports from users every 15 minutes and compare the last hour with what is normal for that time of day over the past week. A small rise shows "Possible problems". Many more reports than normal show "Problems detected". The status is based on user reports only and is not official information from Speechify.
Why won't Speechify read a webpage?
Speechify reads open pages and files, not ones behind a password or login. If the Listen button fails on an open page, use Highlight and Play, and click Report Broken Site so Speechify can fix it.
