- Force close and reopen the game
'Failed to log in' often comes from a temporary server issue or a weak connection. Wait a moment, then force close Pokemon GO and open it again.
- Clear Safari website data on iPhone
Pokemon GO uses Safari to log in. Clearing Safari's website data can fix repeated login failures on iPhone.
- Turn off mock location apps
'Failed to detect location' can be caused by a mock location app. Turn it off in Developer options on Android.
- Turn on Improve Location Accuracy
On Android, Improve Location Accuracy lets your phone use other sensors to find your location when GPS is weak.

About Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO is Niantic's location-based mobile game for catching Pokemon, battling in gyms and raids and trading with friends. Players use the app on iPhone and Android, signing in with a Google, Apple, Facebook or Pokemon Trainer Club account. Problems usually show up as login errors, GPS signal not found messages, raids that do not load or the game failing to connect.

No. Right now there are no widespread problems with Pokemon GO. If it is not working for you, the problem is probably on your side. See "Is it just me?" above.
Why isn't Pokemon GO working for me?
Most problems are local. Restart the app or device, check your internet connection, and make sure the app is up to date. If many other people are reporting the same problem, Pokemon GO itself is probably having an outage and you need to wait.
How do I report a problem with Pokemon GO?
Use the "I have a problem" button at the top of this page and pick what is not working. Reports are anonymous. They help other people see right away if Pokemon GO is down for everyone.
How does IsDownUS decide if Pokemon GO is down?
We count problem reports from users every 15 minutes and compare the last hour with what is normal for that time of day over the past week. A small rise shows "Possible problems". Many more reports than normal show "Problems detected". The status is based on user reports only and is not official information from Pokemon GO.
Why does Pokemon GO say 'Unable to authenticate' or 'Failed to log in'?
Niantic's servers may have a temporary issue or your connection is poor. Check your connection, wait and try again, then force close the app. On iPhone, clearing Safari website data can help.
